As you know, many changes have been made in the new revision of EN ISO 22000:2018 Standard for Food Safety Management Systems – Requirements for Organizations in the Food Chain, and from 29 December 2021, audits will be carried out according to this new and latest version.
The most important of these changes are as follows:
- The strategy of building, maintaining, and auditing the system in line with these principles was included into the implementation procedures by incorporating the Food Safety Management System Principles.
- It was emphasized that the Process approach in the Food Safety Management System should take place more effectively in practice.
- The implementation of the Risk Based Thinking approach was added. In particular, Enterprise Risk Management and Hazard Analysis – Operational Risk Management approach modeling was introduced.
- Both Risk-Based Thinking approaches were added as “Activities to Address Risks and Opportunities” approach.
Planning all changes to be made in the Food Safety Management System has been added (under the heading “Planning Changes”). - In the Food Safety Management System, different approach applications were introduced in the scope of “Externally Developed Elements of the Food Safety Management System”, “Control of Outsourced Processes, Products or Services”, “Analysis and Evaluation”, “Evaluation for Release” and “Disposal of Non-Conforming Product”.
- A new perspective has been introduced in the article of “Emergency Preparedness and Incidents” in the Food Safety Management System.
- A different approach was introduced on Hazard Analysis – Operational Risk Management and Critical Control Point (CCP) measures.
- A new perspective on the importance of “Internal and External Context” in the establishment, implementation and continuous improvement approach of the Food Safety Management System has been introduced.
- With high standardization modeling, the articles within the Standard were increased to 10 headings.
REMEMBER! According to the new version, all inspections will begin as of December 29, 2021.
