The Turkish Public Procurement Authority recently published its Public Procurement Monitoring Report for 2020.
The report shares a series of statistics on the procurement of goods, services, and works (construction) tenders as well as direct procurements made by Trkish public authorities.
Several noteworthy figures include the following:

In 2020, 8.923 separate public authorities purchased 172 billion TRY worth of goods and services through 100.350 tenders.

443.401 TRY worth of these procurements were made within the scope of the Law no. 4734 on Public Procurement. Purchases made with the direct procurement method reached 9,439,234 TRY, and purchases made under exemptions amounted up to 19,644,018 TRY.

Out of the 143.443.401 TRY worth of procurement made within the scope of Law no. 4734:
- 45,60% were for goods, while 31.17% were for services and 23,07% for works (construction)
- In terms of the procurement method used, 71% were in the form of open procedure, 28,76% were restricted tenders and 0,17% took the form of negotiated procedure.
- In terms of participation of foreign tenderers, a total of 102,925,485 TRY worth of procurement was open to the participation from foreign bidders.
- A price advantage between 1-15% favoring domestic tenderers was applied to approximately half of these tenders (47,997,897), while the remaininig 54,947,588 TRY worth of tenders were open to foreign tenderers without any price advantage applied to domestic tenderers.

Regarding prohibitions, 6.418 companies were in the list of prohibited companies as of 31.12.2020.
